Founder Focused Consulting

I work with leaders navigating moments of complexity, growth, and transition. These are often seasons where the stakes feel high, the path forward isn’t obvious, and the decisions you make will shape not just your business, but how you live and lead within it.

My role is to slow the noise, clarify the answers, and help you make decisions from a place of integrity.

Drawing from my experience founding, bootstrapping, scaling, and exiting a company in a legacy industry, I bring both operational perspective and human insight to the table. This work lives at the intersection of strategy, leadership, and meaning.

WHAT WE FOCUS ON

Decision Making in Uncertainty

Uncertainty has a way of amplifying outside noise. Together, we clarify your values, examine the real trade-offs in front of you, and build the confidence to make decisions that feel steady and defensible, even when an outcome isn’t guaranteed.

Functional Authority in an Organization

Trust isn’t built through intention alone. We look closely at how influence moves through your organization, where decisions are truly made, and what dynamics may be shaping outcomes beneath the surface.

How to Lead Authentically

Many leaders worry that slowing down or questioning the status quo will cost them momentum or undermine confidence. In practice, the opposite is often true. This work helps you integrate authenticity into your leadership in ways that strengthen clarity and trust, so your leadership feels grounded rather than reactive.

Building Systems for Lont-Term Trust

Short-term wins can mask deeper fragility. Together, we examine the systems, structures, and decision-making patterns that shape your organization over time. The focus is on building foundations that support people, preserve trust, and allow impact to compound

What Collaboration Looks Like

Always Customized to You

I take the time to understand your goals, constraints, and the systems you’re operating within so the work reflects what’s actually needed, not what’s easiest to deliver.

Wide Range of Formats

I work across a range of formats, including one-on-one advisory, leadership sessions, and longer-term partnerships.

Intentional Partnerships

I’m thoughtful about where and how I engage, prioritizing work that feels aligned on both sides. Ultimately, this allows me to focus on only a handful of founders each year.

I Work Best With Founders, Executives, and Leadership Teams Who:

Are open to reflection, honest conversation, and nuance

If you’re looking for quick fixes or external validation, this likely isn’t the right fit. If you’re seeking clarity, steadiness, and thoughtful partnership, we may work very well together.

A BIT ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Katie Mednick. Entrepreneur, Founder,

After leaving the railroad industry, six of the seven Class I railroads reached out to me for regulatory consulting. I initially set out to build a consulting and instructional design practice, but quickly realized there was a deeper issue at play. The industry lacked modern, purpose-built software that reflected how work was actually being done.

Within my first year, I began developing what would become Rail Tasker. I bootstrapped the company by reinvesting my consulting revenue into building a SaaS platform from the ground up. Staying self-funded allowed me to grow intentionally, remain aligned with my values, and focus on long-term impact rather than short-term pressure. The company was ultimately acquired, marking a successful founder-led exit.

Two days after the sale closed, while attending a conference in Sedona, the idea for Alumah emerged. Over the following months, I began shaping what would become a spiritual self-care platform designed to support people through inner growth and leadership transitions. I knew immediately I was starting another company—this time with a different kind of mission, but the same commitment to integrity and alignment.

Today, I work with founders and leaders navigating growth, transition, and reinvention. Having founded, bootstrapped, scaled, and exited a company, I bring both operational experience and visionary perspective to the challenges leaders face behind the scenes. I help entrepreneurs build with clarity, lead authentically, and create success that is both meaningful and sustainable.
